We are recruiting!
Would you like to become part of one of the most up and coming sources of social media? Over the years, [smiths] has successfully built a reputation for its alternative approach to journalism, a platform for Goldsmiths students to showcase their words and art, as well as maintaining well thought-out aesthetic and design.
This year, our team is expanding and we have lots of new and exciting plans for the publication. Being part of the team, you will be able to contribute to these plans, and put your own mark on [smiths]. Involvement in student media is highly valued in the media and journalism industries, and to prove it, past editors and sub-editors of [smiths] have gone on to work for the likes of Time Out, Vice, The Guardian, and a number of other successful platforms.
If you would like to get involved as a sub-editor you have until 28th August to complete this application and email it to [email protected] Sub-editor roles include recruiting writers, editing articles, commissioning work, shaping your chosen section and overall being an integral part of the publications mechanics. We are looking for editors in all areas of [smiths], including art & culture, fashion, literary & creative, food & drink, politics, fashion and music.
Alternatively, if you are an artist, photographer, designer or illustrator, we are also looking to create a catalogue of contacts for the upcoming year, to whom we can commission artwork for our featured articles. You can also get involved by submitting a gallery of work or a one-off piece, using [smiths] exactly what it was intended for – to exhibit the voice of Goldsmiths. If you are interested in this, please express so my emailing a short paragraph about yourself along with some examples of your work to [email protected]
Thank you for taking the time to get involved, and we look forward to hearing from you!
