Review: Indian Veg, Islington

29 November 2017
"So not only do you get to eat amazing food, but you also get to take in some art in the process." Danielle Conlon reviews the hotspot in Islington.

Planning on visiting Islington any time soon? If so, then it is absolutely essential that you try Indian Veg, which is located right next to the lovely sounding Angel station and hidden away on Chapel Market.

This easy-going buffet has served a delicious mix of dishes since 1985. With most main courses coming in at around £7.95 and a ‘bring your own booze’ policy (what a dream!), you won’t be breaking the bank.

With a wide variety of curries, rice and bhajis to choose from, this quirky curry house is sure to meet all of your veggie needs.

On entry you will be greeted by the warm and friendly staff who are attentive and happy to help. The atmosphere is relaxed and all of the customers seem happy, which is always a good sign.

But what sets this place apart from a typical London restaurant is its décor. The walls are adorned with posters and newspaper articles which aim to promote vegetarianism. So not only do you get to eat amazing food,  you also get to take in some art in the process – a good conversation starter.

As students in one of the world’s most expensive cities, it can be difficult to find a tasty, cheap AND vegetarian restaurant – thankfully Indian Veg ticks all the boxes. Grab yourself a few beers or a bottle of wine, head up to Indian Veg and indulge.
